Wesley 23
One of the amazing things about Wesley at Virginia Tech over the illustrious history is its unique ability to build community amongst the members. In Matthew 18: 20 Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them,” and Wesley has truly been a place where the Lord has been among the community in transformative ways. If you ask any alumni what Wesley meant to them during their time at Virginia Tech they will tell you it was “a home away from home” where they met some of their best friends. Community is a fundamental part of who we are at VT Wesley.
Wesley 23 is a giving program that seeks to continue the vital community where “2” or “3” are gathered in the Lord’s name. In order to maintain a ministry that is a community where students can experience the love of God through worship, fellowship, discipleship, outreach, and mission we need to build a committed giving base that will support the ministry throughout the year.
This new way to be stewards of Wesley at Virginia Tech throughout the year is our Wesley 23 monthly donor distinction. By joining Wesley 23 you are committing to making a monthly contribution to Wesley at Virginia Tech of $23 which would be taken out automatically on the 23rd of each month. Your monthly contribution is used in the following way: $7 goes toward our Building Fund, $7 goes toward our General Program Fund, $7 goes toward our Missions Fund, and $2 goes toward building our Reserves.
Part of being a Wesley 23 donor will give you a monthly email filled with ministry highlights and prayer requests for the ministry (this would be in addition to the bi-annual Flame newsletter) and acknowledgment of being a Wesley 23 Donor. If you already give $23 or more a month to Wesley, you will automatically be a Wesley 23 Donor (the same distribution will be used and the remaining amount of your gift will go to the General Fund.)
As we seek to continue “Loving Out Loud” on our campus, in our community, and throughout the world, Wesley at Virginia Tech needs your support. This monthly contribution option enables us to grow our ministry in amazing ways.
